About five years after the death of Jesus, St. John is said to have brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus, and the Virgin Mary spends her last days in this house. The discovery of the Virgin Mary’s House shed new light on the Christian world, and this place has become the center of attention. Pope Paul VI paid a visit to this house, which is also considered sacred by Muslims, in 1967, and after this date, rituals began to be held on the 15th day of August every year.
